Achieving clearer, smoother, and healthier-looking skin starts from the inside out. Age spots, discoloration, and redness start developing below the skin’s surface at the cellular level. BBL treatments at our Trinity, FL, location use potent pulses of light energy to target the skin’s deeper layers and create noticeable results for our patients from Port Richey, Spring Hill, and beyond.
How Does BBL Work?
BBL is the most powerful type of intense pulsed light (IPL) available and heats the skin’s underlying layers with a broad spectrum of wavelengths. The heat generated by the light energy stimulates the faster turnover of skin cells and triggers your body’s natural healing response, producing new collagen and elastin. As healthy, new skin cells replace older, damaged cells, visible skin problems such as pigmented and vascular lesions, brown spots, and acne scars gradually fade.
One Device, Multiple Treatment Options
The Sciton® JOULE™ platform includes a range of treatment options that allow our providers to customize BBL procedures for specific concerns. All BBL treatments use concentrated visible light to treat skin conditions non-invasively and more precisely than other IPL treatments. Our BBL treatment options include Forever Young BBL™ and Forever Clear BBL®.
Forever Young is designed to quickly and comfortably reverse signs of aging, such as lax skin, wrinkles, and discoloration on the face and neck. The efficiency of Forever Young treatments enables us to address multiple concerns during a single appointment. Like other BBL treatments, there is no downtime following the procedure, and you can achieve the desired outcome in 2 or 3 treatments.
Forever Clear BBL uses light energy to treat active acne without creams or medicine. In the same way that BBL improves the skin’s texture by delivering light energy to the skin’s deeper layers, Forever Clear stimulates the rapid turnover of skin cells to produce clear and healthy-looking skin.
What Is BBL HERO™?
As the latest generation of BBL, HERO is more powerful, versatile, and efficient than any IPL device in the world. BBL HERO is 4 times faster, delivers 3 times the peak power, and offers 2 times the cooling capacity of the original BBL device. Besides treating the face, we can treat large areas, including the décolletage, back, arms, and legs, in as little as 5 minutes.
Who Can Benefit From BBL HERO Treatments?
BBL HERO’s versatility makes it one of the go-to treatments at our dermatology practice. It effectively treats:
- Age spots
- Sun damage
- Small, visible blood vessels
- Active acne
- Pigmented lesions
The BBL HERO treatment is designed to work on most skin types and tones, so even if you have darker skin, you could see results from this efficient treatment. It is gentle enough to work on even tanned skin, so most people can benefit from a BBL HERO treatment.
What Happens During a BBL HERO Treatment?
A BBL HERO treatment is gentle and efficient. It’s performed in one of our treatment rooms, and you can return to work or social engagements immediately after the procedure. The light energy penetrates the skin without damaging the surface, so any visible side effects are typically quite mild. During the procedure, your provider glides the device along the treatment area as it delivers rapid pulses of light. You may feel some warmth during the treatment, but most patients experience little to no discomfort.
If you have any redness after the treatment, it likely will fade by the end of the day. It is important to apply sunscreen following a BBL HERO procedure.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
We’ll create a customized treatment plan for you based on your concerns and aesthetic goals. In most cases, you’ll get the best results after 3 to 5 treatment sessions, each scheduled a few weeks apart. Even though you’ll need more than 1 treatment, you’ll start seeing results soon after the first procedure as the body’s healing process kicks into gear. After your final treatment, the body will continue producing new collagen and elastin for months, and you’ll continue to see improvement in your skin’s appearance.
How Much Do BBL HERO Treatments Cost?
Because we customize BBL treatments for each patient, the cost of the procedure varies depending on your concerns, goals, and the number of treatments needed to accomplish the desired results. After your consultation, we provide a cost estimate that you can review before making a decision about getting a BBL treatment.
